Geeta Basra is a British-born Indian actress who has primarily appeared in Bollywood films. Born on March 13, 1984, in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England, she grew up in the United Kingdom before moving to Mumbai, India, to pursue a career in acting. She studied acting at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute, which helped pave her way into the Indian entertainment industry. Basra made her acting debut in the 2006 film Dil Diya Hai, where she starred alongside Emraan Hashmi and Ashmit Patel. She gained further recognition with her second film, the thriller The Train (2007), also opposite Emraan Hashmi, where her performance and the film's music were well-received. Over the years, she has appeared in films like Zila Ghaziabad (2013) and Second Hand Husband (2015), as well as Punjabi films like Lock (2016). Apart from her acting career, she has been featured in music videos, notably Sukshinder Shinda and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's Ghum Sughum. Geeta Basra married veteran Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh in October 2015 after a long-term relationship. The couple has two children, a daughter named Hinaya Heer Plaha and a son named Jovan Veer Singh Plaha.
